TO conclude the 2022 calendar year, the Australian Wool Market ended on a positive note, with the AWEX Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) closing 49 cents dearer to finish at 1,327c/kg.
This is on the back of last week’s 54 cent gain, making the fortnight increase of 103 cents the best performing December on record (since 1979).
The rising market was made up from strong support across all Merino types, given there was high demand from exporters as a last chance to buy before the three week Christmas recess.
