TROOPERS STABLES a Rare find any where in NSW~ Trackers sometimes lived in small huts out the back of police stations or in the police stables where they looked after the horses. None lived in the main station houses. The Museum has the original Plans as to where the Trackers Hut would have been located right next to the Stables.. These extinct Police stables can be seen at Coonamble Museum and the old Cobbora police station, which is now a private residence. Other trackers camped in the police paddock or lived at the local Aboriginal reserve on the edge of town. SO for Coonamble to have the Only Stables in NSW still viable for Tourist to visit and visualize what it must have been like in the 1800’s is such a Credit to our Community. All we need to do is to repair the decade bricks that are right next to the Troopers Horse Trough on the Southern Wall. PLEASE TRY & SAVE ME. ❤ * Photos I took in 2005.
