At least 31 properties have been listed for auction in the shire as Council looks to recover long overdue unpaid rates.
Eleven properties are listed in Coonamble, 15 in Gulargambone and five in Quambone, while at least one landowner has approached Council and made a financial arrangement since councilors approved the sales in July 2025.
Director of Corporate Services, Bruce Quarmby said council would prefer not to have to sell the properties, but it’s “not fair on those people who are paying their rates.”
