Coonamble's first women's refuge is a step closer to being underway after councillors supported reclassifying land where the shelter will be built.
Councillors voted on 10 December to endorse the final planning proposal for the shelter on Limerick Street.
They also approved for Council to request that the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure reclassify land at the site to clear the way for the complex.
