Market continues to trend higher

31/01/2026 by The Coonamble Times

The Australian wool market has continued to trend higher, with the Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) finishing the week at 1,689c/kg, a gain of 41 cents.

Last week’s gains encouraged increased seller participation with 43,497 bales offered, the largest national catalogue since the corresponding sale last season (Week 30).

Despite the larger offering, buyer sentiment remained buoyant.

On the opening day, the market exceeded expectations to record further gains across all sectors.

All published Micron Price Guides (MPGs) rose, with Merino fleece types lifting by 16 - 42 cents . . .
