The president of Coonamble’s Aboriginal Education Consultation Group (AECG) hopes to bring more members on board following a set of visits to Coonamble’s public and high school on Friday 6 February.
Nina Sands spoke to teaching and non-teaching staff ahead of the start of Term 1, where she outlined the NSW non-profit group’s structure and goals.
She said local twice-a-term meetings help inform community members on school activities and channel feedback to the organisation’s state level, which advocates to government.
