Eighty-year-old Robert Steadman (also known as Aussie Bob) and 79-year-old wife Kristeen moved to the Coonamble from Sydney over 15 months ago.
Kristeen has physical disabilities and uses a mobility scooter to move around in town. The couple came to the town because the trip to the hospital would be faster than from their city home.
