On 6 December a ferocious bushfire burned down the Beni Creek railway bridge in a forest near Dubbo, and regional grain handlers are having to use alternate routes to cart out of Coonamble.
The Goonoo State Conservation area bushfire burned the timber structure of the Beni Creek Trestle Bridge on 6 December, leaving the rails swinging.
The bridge was on the Dubbo to Merrygoen line, a vital part of a route to export massive quantities of grain from Coonamble via Dubbo to export terminals at Newcastle.
