Between sporadic fires, high winds and heavy rain, summer storms are already disrupting local life just a couple of weeks into the season.
Just under 2900 customers in the shire went without electricity from around 6:25pm on Thursday 11 December after storms triggered protection equipment, automatically cutting power in Coonamble, Gulargambone, Quambone and surrounds.
Coonamble's airport's automatic whether station recorded about 32 millimeters of rain and wind speeds up 87 kilometres per hour.
