The Billeroy Bus may be cancelled as early as the end of this year, although families and Coonamble Shire Council have vowed to fight the decision.
In recent years the number of children using the service has fluctuated between one and nine.
The decision was made by Transport NSW, who say they need a minimum number of eight students to keep the bus run financially viable.
