The Bush Fire Danger Period started this month and the new Rural Fire Service (RFS) district manager urges the community to be vigilant and prepared.
The fire season began on October 1 and will follow through to autumn.
Unless the local fire threat remain high it will conclude on March 31 next year.
During this period any open fires will require permits.
