ON Monday 6 February, the NSW Liberal National government outlined its much-anticipated poker machine reform plan.
The reforms come in response to the ‘Project Islington’ report by the NSW Crime Commission which found poker machines were being used to launder money by criminals.
The crux of the plan will be to make all poker machines cashless by 2028 while also finding ways to support smaller venues in the bush with the transition.
