With the usual crowd of about 350 for a February T.A.B Meeting at Coonabarabran swelling to several thousand for the special Bushfire Appeal Meeting last Saturday it was appropriate a local galloper won the opening race.
Trainer Mick Cox who is also vice-president of the Coonabarabran Jockey Club shares ownership of the winner Dan Danoro with Brett Bowman from Coonabarabran and Dave Jelaco from Sydney.
Dubbo jockey Ken Dunbar gave Dan Danoro (7.00) a nice run behind . . .
