Sheep and goat farmers will have more time to get in on subsidised electronic ID tags after the NSW government announced an extra $4 million to extend the scheme until the end of 2025.
The extension will reduce e-tag costs by 76 cents, including GST, for devices bought between 1 November 2024 and 31 December 2025.
The tags became mandatory for lambs born after the start of 2025 under the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS), so local farmers who spoke to The Coonamble Times said they had largely already bought them for this year . . .
