Coonamble township came to a virtual standstill on Friday afternoon 5 February with an unexpected power outage.
Essential Energy’s Operations Manager North Western, Damian Smith, said for the safety of the public and their property, the electricity network automatically switched power off to 2,848 homes and businesses at 1.25pm after sensing a fault.
