A Coonamble resident hopes an incident involving a group of local dogs earlier this year will remind residents to take extra care when securing their pets.
Coonamble Shire Council says it is doing as much as it can to stay on top of unsecured pets with its available resources, and that responsibility lies with the owners under current government legislation.
