Proposed weir at Gin Gin raises questions

A new weir has been proposed for the Macquarie River which, if constructed, could have a significant impact on the already-struggling Macquarie Marshes and affect the overall health of the river and its ecosystems.

The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has engaged WaterNSW to explore the option of constructing a 're-regulating weir' on the Macquarie River downstream of the existing Gin Gin weir, located between Narromine . . .
