Winter netball comp heads into finals

Coonamble’s mixed netball teams really turned it on for the final regular round of the winter competition on Monday 4 August, with many battling it out for a spot in the finals.

Foonettos played Unco in one of the early games, with both teams really putting their all into each and every quarter.

Andrew Morley and Kristie Nairne did well in defence but were unable to prevent Phil and Carly Fernando from sinking some early shots to gain the lead.

Foonettos did well to demonstrate why they have been sitting comfortably at second on the ladder for the past few weeks, defeating Unco 36-12.

On the opposite court, Busted Ballz went up against Team Who?

It was a great game to watch, with lots of young talent on the court.

Busted Ballz managed to get an early lead, which they continued to extend thanks to their team’s sharp shooting and strong defence.

Despite their best efforts, Team Who? were defeated by Busted Ballz with a final score of 24-4.

On the back court, Team Kaos went head to head against Termo for a spot in the finals.

Sitting just above them on the table, Team Kaos were looking forward to a tough game, and thats exactly what Termo gave them.

Both teams played quite physically, putting their bodies on the line for the ball and getting a little pushy shovey in the process.

It was neck and neck for the first few quarters, before Termo pulled into the lead.

The final quarter was a real nail biter, with Team Kaos catching up in points before Termo put pedal to the metal and pushed ahead, taking the win 21-16.

Next week’s finals draw will be as follows (11.08.25):

Final 1 will see Foonettos (2nd) v Busted Ballz (3rd) at 6pm.

Team Kaos will play Team Who?, and LOL will play Unco at 6pm as well.

Final 2 will start at 7pm, with Here for Beer (1st) v Termo (4th).

Goal Diggers will have the bye.
