Castlereagh Rugby League secretary Bryson Luff says the game will be safer after new concussion rules came into play in early November.
Key updates include player assessment by a doctor within 72 hours of a suspected concussion, along with stand down periods if there is strong evidence of concussion - even with medical clearance.
The Australian Rugby League Commission adopted the new policy, which was developed based on the Consensus Statement from the 6th International Conference on Concussion in Sport, held in 2022 in the Netherlands.
