For the first time since 2022, there is a second permanent doctor at Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service. (CAHS)
Dr Jayant Karambhe moved to Coonamble from Western Australia with wife Mamta on 10 January. The 60-year-old has amassed about 18 years as a medical practitioner within Australia.
He says he likes to take time to listen to his patients.
"If we go with fast-paced medicine, then the listening part gets marginalized," he said.
"But here I've got that time - which I respect a lot - and I feel developing . . .
