One of 2828's longest running volunteers says she's optimistic about the much-loved Gulargambone venue as the managing committee seek a new set of hands to take the wheel.
Local businessman Pompy Singh took over the lease in January 2025 but handed back the keys as he returned to managing Gular's Friendly Grocer Supermarket for 2026.
Barring Australia Day and a dinner the evening before, the doors have not yet reopened to the public this year.
