For the first time, Coonamble will see not one but two literacy programs delivered in 2026 to support local Indigenous adults.
While the Literacy for Life Foundation bid for multi-year funding in 2025, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations granted $1,750,000 to Dubbo-based charity REDI.E to deliver a new Indigenous literacy program in Orange, Dubbo and Coonamble, although the Times understands it will no longer run in Orange.
The Indigenous organisation hosted an information day at their Coonamble youth centre on 20 January, and says their courses will begin . . .
