Local residents say used 'party packs' are being found in increasing quantities discarded on roadsides, and they are concerned about the safety risk they pose to the community.
The packs containing sterile syringes are supplied from a machine at the Coonamble Hospital to promote the safe use of injectable drugs.
However both walkers and riders have reported finding used needles in public areas creating a safety issue for the community.
