Coonamble Shire Council binned a residential ‘Kerbside Recycling’ initiative in the Council meeting on 15 April, following recent investigations by Netwaste.
The decision came after councillors reviewed findings from the NetWaste Organics Infrastructure Advisory Service Report, completed in August 2025, which examined several potential pathways to increase recycling across the shire.
The document shed light on multiple paths the Shire could take to promote additional recycling in town.
Ultimately, the Councilors decided to ‘maintain business as usual’ and not venture further into the roadside recycling idea at this time.
