Coonamble’s waste facility sits on the Back Gular Road, but some locals have decided roadsides are better places for dumping rubbish.
The illegal practice is placing a financial burden on the community, with Coonamble Shire Council forced to cover the cost of repeated clean-ups.
So far this year cleaning up the illegally dumped rubbish has cost $17,362.
