A routine early morning fuel run turned into a tense roadside pursuit for local man Gerard Barrett, after he encountered a suspicious vehicle just outside Coonamble.
Unknown to Gerard, the same suspicious vehicle was being sought by police following an alleged domestic violence incident and a failure to stop earlier in the morning of Sunday May 3.
Gerard’s ordeal began when he was heading off to refuel his ute around 5am on Sunday 3 May.
