Over the past week, Eastern states’ livestock markets experienced a major surge and tightening yarding numbers, largely driven by widespread rainfall across key producing regions in NSW and Queensland.

This abruptly halted the heavy turn-offs seen earlier in the month.

Heavy Angus Feeder steers currently reaching as high as $5.45 delivered to the feedlot.

This has been sitting above $5/kg for nearly 8 months now.

Dubbo Cattle Sale 21/05/2026 was quoted as dearer across the board.

Young cattle to the trade were 25 cents . . .
