The Australian wool market recorded strong gains this week, with the benchmark Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) closing 54 cents higher at 1,934 cents – its highest level since May 2019.
A total of 25,712 bales were offered nationally, with aggressive buyer demand driving large increases across the merino fleece sector.
On the opening day, merino fleece Micron Price Guides (MPGs) rose by between 6 and 79 cents, with Fremantle posting the largest gains after missing stronger movements in the previous series.
