Coonamble could soon become home to north-western NSW’s first automated Return and Earn depot, with councillors hearing the proposal at last week’s council meeting.
Council’s Manager of Waste, Recycle and Employment Initiatives, Janelle Whitehead, outlined the benefits of the project at the 17 July council meeting, describing it as a major opportunity to strengthen recycling and support local fundraising.
“We are looking at new initiatives, and the biggest one is the Return and Earn,” Ms Whitehead said.
