As the cold starts to bite the local fire brigade is warning locals to keep an eye on electric heaters and smoke alarms.
Although Coonamble's Fire and Rescue Captain Andrew Morley said the crew have not received any calls to fires, he wants locals to stay mindful of placement of electric heaters this winter.
"Make sure you're keeping your clothes a metre from the heater," he said.
"A safe distance is to keep everything one metre away."
