A persistent pigeon problem at a Coonamble property is proving both frustrating and expensive for a local housing provider, prompting calls for a broader solution to the growing bird population in town.
Dreamtime Housing Northern Region Asset Manager Damien Martin raised the issue during last week’s Coonamble Shire Council meeting, highlighting ongoing problems at a property in Dubbo Street.
“We have got multiple properties in Coonamble and in one of them we have got an extreme issue with pigeons in the roof,” Mr Martin said.
