Coonamble Shire Mayor Dan Keady says ageing public pools are becoming a growing concern for councils across western NSW, with many facilities built decades ago now approaching the end of their operational life.
"Our pool is aging, just like every other pool in the region. We'll have to address that at some point," Cr Keady said.
"There will be a time when we will have to replace it."
Cr Keady said maintaining a functioning public pool remained important for local families and young people.
