School students swarmed to Coonamble Public School on Wednesday 1 July for the Voice of Lele and Mitch Tambo concert in early celebration of NAIDOC Week.
Although the students will be on school holidays during the 50th anniversary of National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week, running from 5 to 12 July, the Coonamble High School and St Brigids students joined the state school to celebrate together.
Coonamble High School Principal Chris Keenan reported this marked the first time all the town’s schools have united for NAIDOC.
