While other Coonamble school students were sitting in class last month, 12 year old Mikayla Jackson was chasing cattle at the Ranch Sorting National Championships World Finals in Texas, USA.
The Coonamble local was among just a handful of Aussies who made the trip across the Pacific to the world championships, from 6 to 13 June.
Mikayla came back with an impressive title.
She flew overseas with her mum, Kim Jackson, to face up against the world’s best Ranch Sorters.
The sport challenges two teammates to round up numbered cattle . . .
