New faces will now be handling your mail after long-time owners Les and Ruby Slack-Smith called time on their 30 years running the Coonamble Post Office, passing the reins on to new owner Babu Thoombath last Tuesday 21 July.
Les joined Australia Post as a postal manager in Coonamble in 1973, gaining the position to have first offer on the post office when it came onto the market.
On 1 July 1996 Les and Ruby took over business becoming familiar faces in the Coonamble community for many years to come.
