Gulargambone will be in the spotlight this Friday as the community officially unveils their Freedom Ride Blue Plaque.
The NSW Government has launched a blue plaque trail, commemorating the 1965 Freedom Ride which was a landmark civil rights journey that shaped modern day Australia.
A series of new Blue Plaques will mark significant locations along the original route, with one taking pride of place in Gulargambone where a busload of students and activists led by Dr Charles Perkins, stopped over in the town.
