It’s a prime time to take measures to control African Boxthorn where the weed continues to infest large areas and provide an ongoing frustration for local landholders.
African boxthorn is a major problem across the Castlereagh Macquarie County Council (CMCC) area which covers the Warrumbungles, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Warren and Walgett Shires.
The weed significantly reduces grazing land and restricts livestock access to shade and shelter, as well as harboring pests by creating an ideal breeding ground for pigs, foxes and rabbits.
