Container recycling is about to take a dramatically different turn at the Coonamble Waste Management Facility following the arrival of two brand new machines last Tuesday 4 August.

The machinery will see a transition from the current over the counter (manual) container deposit facility to an Automated Depot (AD).

The project has been four years in the making, as the partnership developed between Tomra Cleanaway and the Coonamble Shire Council.

At the moment, two staff members manually sort and count all containers, no small effort with records showing a 200% increase in volume . . .
