An innovative employment initiative designed to foster a home-grown workforce is taking Coonamble Shire Council to the national stage on 25 August as a finalist in the National Employment Services Association Awards for Excellence.
Staff member Janelle Whitehead will represent Council, as the driving force behind the successful Wake Up Shake Up pre-employment program that saw eight people finish the three workshop series and fast-tracked to fill vacant council positions.
