After a whirlwind three weeks as Coonamble Times reporter Sally Altus has put away the camera and headed back to finish her first year at Newcastle University.
She stepped into the fray at short notice following the departure of cadet journalist Kelsi Davis in July.
Despite being thrown into the deep end with pressure to deliver at least half a dozen stories a week, Sally was surprised to find she had a feel for news gathering and says she enjoyed her time getting to know her hometown better.
