Syphilis infections have tripled across Western NSW this year, with health authorities warning there may be many more undiagnosed cases in the community.
Western NSW Local Health District Public Health Director Priscilla Stanley said the district had recorded 26 infectious syphilis infections so far this year, three times the number recorded at the same point in 2025.
“This is an increase from what we are used to seeing, so we suspect there may also be many undiagnosed cases of infectious syphilis in the community,” Ms Stanley said…
