Students in Australia’s most remote classrooms continue to face a striking education divide, with the latest NAPLAN results showing a substantial gap between very remote and metropolitan schools.
The 2026 NAPLAN National Results show just 23.1 per cent of students attending very remote schools achieved Strong or Exceeding results in reading, compared with 70 per cent of students in major cities.
