Auntie Sylvia shares journey of healing and resilience

Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service (CAHS) invited Auntie Sylvia Akusha to host a reconciliation event for National Sorry Day on Tuesday 26 May.

The candle making event was held at Coonamble Bowling Club, and Auntie Sylvia shared stories of her past, including how being a victim to the Stolen Generation affected her.

Elsie Manson from the AMS said Auntie Sylvie has “a strong passion for healing and supporting wellbeing.”

She said Auntie Sylvie used candle making to help her through the trauma.

“She is known for traveling through regional New South Wales . . .
