BreastScreen van returns to town

25/06/2026 by The Coonamble Times

The breast cancer screening van circled back to Coonamble’s Smith Park on Wednesday 17 June, providing free scans for women over 40 years old.

NSW Greater Western BreastScreen Manager Deon Adamson said the easily accessible monogram can save lives.

She is encouraging locals to board the bus for a quick check.

“Detecting breast cancer early increases your chance of survival while reducing the likelihood of invasive treatment, such as mastectomy or chemotherapy.”

Cancer Australia reports over 20,300 new cases of breast cancer in 2026 and 3,350 deaths.
