An urgent cry to increase financial support for rural and regional patients traveling long distances for medical care has been taken up by the NSW Opposition Nationals Leader Gurmesh Singh and Shadow Minister for Health and Regional Health Sarah Mitchell have called on the NSW Government to rethink the current scheme as the price of fuel reaches a new high, a move backed by the Independent Member for Barwon Roy Butler.
The Government is being asked to immediately review, and temporarily increase, the kilometre rate to better reflect current fuel prices and ease the burden on patients and their families…
