Coonamble Local Marnie Ryan was one of the 16,000 people who joined in on the Brisbane Rio Tinto Race on Sunday 7 June, but something made her stand out from the other racers.
Amongst the thousands in the sea of high-sprung shoes and red, yellow and green racing bibs, 24 year old Marnie had a goal in mind.
She was running a half marathon and raising money towards Australia’s Cure Cancer Foundation, with a target of three thousand dollars.
Not only did she reach this, she more than doubled it . . .
