With the extreme heat and prolonged dry conditions continuing to put strain on groundwater supplies throughout the region Coonamble Shire Council announced on January 18 that residents outside the water reticulation areas would have access to free drinkable water.
The decision was made at the December Council meeting to provide the water for domestic and household use for affected residents in Coonamble, Quambone and Gulargambone.
