Detection of E. coli contamination at Lightning Ridge

Samples from local water has detected E. coli bacteria and it means mean that the water in the Lightning Ridge is unsafe.

A council spokesperson said E. coli in drinking water shows that the water may be contaminated with faeces and organisms that may cause gastrointestinal illness.
