The Country Mayors Association of NSW (CMA) is bracing for battle over the Federal Government’s proposed changes to the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) which would result in the Government substantially reducing the financial contribution it makes to disasters that occur in NSW.
The 89 remote, rural and regional Councils who make up the CMA say they will band together with the ALGA (Australian Local Government Association), LGNSW (Local Government NSW) and the NSW State Government to vehemently oppose the proposed change.
