The draft Enhancing Recreational Fishing in NSW Action Plan 2026-2031 – through which the NSW Government aims to give recreational fishers a voice to talk about healthier waterways and increased fishing opportunities across the state – is nearing the end of its consultation period.
The draft plan hopes to promote environmental stewardship of waterways, deliver greater participation in fishing, promote the benefits of fishing to wellbeing and social lifestyles, and fast track the recovery of depleted species.
With consultation closing on the 24 April, fishers still have a chance to have their say on ways of enhancing the industry for all keen anglers statewide.
The Government is also establishing a board of a new independent recreational fishing peak body to offer a positive way forward for the recreational fishing sector in NSW…
